01

Code Quality

IP cores shipped by Chip Interfaces passes a comprehensive suite of automated quality gates, from functional regression to static analysis, before it ever reaches your team.

Verification
UVM/VIP Regression Testing
Chip Interfaces IP cores are verified rigorously using UVM environments including randomized testing and VIP models to ensure first time right ASIC quality. Verification combines in house, commercial, and customer environments, targeting 100% coverage across all metrics. Select IP cores also include productized VIP based UVM environments for testing full systems including PHY/SerDes, controller IP, and application logic.
Static Analysis
Lint & CDC Checks
Chip Interfaces IP is delivered with code checked using Lint to ensure correctness, coding quality, and maintainability. CDC analysis verifies proper clock domain crossings and eliminates metastability risks early in the design. The result is safe, reliable, and thoroughly verified code ready for production ASIC and FPGA projects. The Lint and CDC used are Synopsys Spyglass, Siemens Questa and Verilater.
Automation
Automated Register Descriptions
Chip Interfaces uses automated systems to generate register list in html or RDL formats, with detailed descriptions of configuration bits and field parameters. This automated way ensures the documentation always follows the code and you are never faced with missing registers or outdated descriptions slowing down your integration process. Highest quality is what we aim for and what you can expect from our deliveries.

02

Implementation Correctness

Chip Interfaces validates IP cores against real protocol equipment and in live multi vendor hardware environments as simulation alone is not enough.

Industry Events
Plugfest Participation
Chip Interfaces participates in industry plug fests to test IP cores on hardware against solutions from other protocol vendors. These interoperability events provide real world validation and valuable feedback across different implementations.
  • Participation in interoperability plug-fests
  • Hardware testing against other vendors’ solutions
  • Validation across different implementations
  • Real world conditions for deployment risk reduction
Hardware
Protocol Test Equipment
Chip Interfaces uses available protocol test equipment to validate designs against third-party implementations. These testers run compliance suites, analog signal tests, and generate relevant network traffic to ensure correct protocol behaviour.
  • Use of protocol test equipment when available
  • Compliance test suites for protocol validation
  • Analog testing for clocks and signal characteristics
  • Network traffic generation for behavioral testing
Hardware
Protocol Interoperability in Hardware
Chip Interfaces builds internal lab test rigs using market-available physical components to validate protocol implementations in real world conditions. Third-party components are connected to IP deployed on FPGA boards and tested using internal environments to ensure correct behavior and successful customer deployments.
  • Internal lab test rigs using market-available components
  • Use of ADCs, DACs, and two-wire bus components from leading vendors
  • IP deployed on FPGA test boards
  • Third-party components validated with internal test environments
FPGA PHY
Simulation
Protocol Interoperability in Simulation
For designs impractical to test in hardware, Chip Interfaces performs interoperability testing with similar third-party IP, including competitors, using simulation and serialized data stream captures. This approach ensures first time right, interoperable, standards-compliant, and deployment-ready solutions.
  • Interoperability testing with third-party IP (including competitors)
  • Simulation with encrypted IP connections
  • Serialized data stream capture sharing and analysis

Simulation
SerDes/PHY Interoperability in Simulation

Chip Interfaces performs interoperability testing with leading SerDes/PHY IP providers by connecting its IP designs to PHY simulation models and validating data transmission across different clock and line-rate conditions. This ensures correct integration and runtime performance while enabling delivery of integrated Controller IP + SerDes/PHY packages.

Hardware
SerDes/PHY Interoperability in Hardware

With support from a SerDes partner, Chip Interfaces conducts physical hardware tests by connecting Controller IP running on an FPGA to an ASIC test chip containing a SerDes PHY. Communication is monitored for test patterns and errors to ensure full interoperability under real-world conditions.

Silicon
Test Tape-Outs with PHY Partners

For designs such as chiplet and die-to-die connections where standard interoperability testing is not feasible, Chip Interfaces collaborates with SerDes partners to perform silicon test tape-outs of Controller IP together with PHY IP. The resulting test chips embed a test suite that validates interoperability across the full protocol stack, including both controller and PHY.
